The Eviction Response Network is a project of WSTA. Originally launched in response to evictions occurring during the height of the pandemic during an “eviction moratorium”, the ERN was designed as a large-scale activation tool for tenants + activist all over the city to show up for their neighbors fighting eviction. Eviction Response Networks are not new. ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL ERNS in history was created in SF in the 60’s to support tenants of the I-hotel.
Over time, the ERN has grown into its own organizing project, not just an activation network. We have organized buildings against Ellis Act Evictions, shown up for tenants at court, organized fundraisers and social media campaigns with tenants facing eviction, and MORE .
